Overeating at Murasaki

We went out last minute to celebrate our dear friends engagement last night. It's was an interesting proposal where the girlfriend proposed in front of a crowd of 80-90 people in a "Life Changing" forum. Very touching story aside, they were too hungry to decide what to eat so we suggested Japanese.

The nearest Japanese restaurant was Murasaki, which my family frequents. It's so true - never order when you're four hungry adults. Oh boy, we had a large Sushi & Sashimi combination boat, large main course tempura combination, sweet and chilli prawns, gyu takaki (raw beef), unagi (grilled eel), butter scallops, rice.. and over the hill came the Yosenabe for two (a hot pot of vegetables, seafood and tofu in a clear seaweed broth). My friend commented that the Yosenabe on its own would have been sufficient for a couple's dinner. We made good progress with the yosenabe none the less. But we could have been very comfortable without the it and the chilli prawns. Couldn't fit dessert - very disappointed.

They have a good teppanyaki section that serves a variety of dishes - worth a try as well. But don't expect any acrobatic performance here.
