Nudel Bar - I Stand to be Corrected

For my colleague's birthday, Mary decided to take us to the other side of Bourke Street. She said that we would decide where to go when we get there... Fine, anything but Nudel Bar, I thought. But when we stopped in front of Cellar Bar and Nudel Bar, and the unanimous vote was for Nudel Bar. So, I walked in trailing behind the others, expecting nothing, but left with a new respect for this established CBD institution.
Last time, Hubby and I ordered Asian dishes like the Wonton noodles and BBQ Pork noodles, that's where we went wrong. These classic Chinese dishes cannot compare with the cheaper and more MSG-fueled ones in Chinatown. However, this time round I absolutely loved my buckwheat noodles. Love love love them.

I had the Special of the Day, Roasted Rare Beef Slices with Buckwheat Noodles, that came with sauteed spinach, chopped spring onion, fresh baby radish and a light wasabi dressing. My colleagues had the Dark Soya Flat Noodles and Curry Laksa. I just loved my dish. The laksa was spicy hot, the noodles filling. Along with our noodles, we had glasses of roses.
The waitress was really attentative, especially after I let slip that it was my colleague's birthday. She made many menu suggestions and generously poured us the remainder of the rose without additional charge. So much for brain power in the afternoon.

I can't wait to go back again... first I have to convince Hubby.

Hi there Kazmic - I too think Nudel bar does some great stuff (check out my post about the fabulous gado gado).

And congratulations on the move to blogger!

That looks yum!! If you like gadogado, my Singaporean colleague likes it at Singapore Chom Chom on the corner of Bourke and Russell. Personally I think the Malaysian restaurant newly opened in Lt Bourke Street is better. Don't remember the name but if you're interested, I will find out.

Thanks Mellie!! The move took a while but just had to do it.. Spaces was just too limiting.
